Who Are We?
Richard Fish Outdoor Adventures aims to support and inspire you to engage with the outdoors. Our courses and workshops aim to help you learn skills, challenge yourself and to discover the environment in which we travel. Our ethos is “more than just a walk” so we aim to add value with local knowledge, information on the landscape, wildlife and history. More recently we have started to specialise in birding/ nature specific events too.
We are based on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, a ‘National Landscape’ and Lincolnshire has over 4000km of public footpaths/rights of way. We offer a variety of events Lincolnshire but also operate in all the over the UK, particularly in the main mountainous areas such as Snowdonia/ Eryri. We run bespoke courses anywhere you’d like to explore!

Previous Experience
Richard had 15 years delivering the Duke of Edinburgh Award as a DofE Manager, Verifier, Assessor and Expedition Supervisor and Freelancer. Richard previously offered NNAS courses and worked on Mountain Training Lowland Leader Courses.
Memberships & Associations
Richard is a member of the Mountain Training Association and the British Mountaineering Council. We also are members of the National Trust, RSPB, Woodland Trust and Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
Nature Walks
A growing theme in our Events Calender is wildlife walks. We offer these seasonally in Lincolnshire and also in the uplands. We are passionate about nature – and we’re bound to discuss birds, trees and flowers on all of our walks see page “Nature Lincolnshire”.
More than just a walk
Richard and his team are passionate about going the extra mile. We love to enthuse about nature, history the environment etc. Leaders have great interpersonal skills so not only will you be safe, you can look forward to banter, enjoyment and learning. Many of our walks have a specific theme but on all walks we hope you are able to engage more with the immediate environment.
Mountain/ Event Leadership
We use experienced, qualified leaders and have public and employer’s liability insurance. Our leaders all have 16hr Outdoor First Aid Training. Richard has Outdoor First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and an enhanced DBS too.
Navigation
We have lots of experience offering a range of navigation courses independently, for other providers and a local college. Richard is an NNAS tutor and former Course Provider. We now tend to offer bespoke navigation sessions beginner sessions in lowland environments to more advanced sessions in more remote or mountainous terrain.
Challenges & Guided Walks
We offer a range of popular guided walks as open sessions to book on to e.g. Spires and Steeples or Yr Wyddfa/ Snowdon for Sunrise.
We organise Charity Events e.g. in the last few years we have organised charity hikes in Lincolnshire, the South Downs, Yorkshire 3 Peaks, Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. We also can organise any bespoke events anywhere in the UK.
People With Additional Needs
Richard has 20 years experience working with individuals with additional needs and a range of impairments. Richard is also a licensed Makaton Tutor and delivers disability awareness training.
